Cascades and the environment

Because the protection of the environment is profoundly anchored to its values, Cascades has equipped itself with clear environmental guidelines which aim to exceed the environmental standards that are currently in force.

Incidentally, Cascades holds the title of largest wastepaper recoverer in Canada. In 2011, the use of 3.1 million tons of recycled fibre helped to preserve 42 million trees. The company consume 5 times less water per metric tonne of paper produced  than the Canadian paper industry average.

"At Cascades, sustainable development has never been a constraint.  It is a way of living that gives meaning to all our actions."

Alain Lemaire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cascades inc.
